Highland hosted a five-school meet on Tuesday, December 11. In spite of a few early hiccups in the bouts, it was a successful meet for all involved. Highland Wrestling improved as a team and had several excellent learning opportunities during the course of the meet. All our wrestlers are stepping up and exemplifying the HIKER way in their practice and performance on the mat. Highland Wrestling will be at Utah Military Academy on Tuesday, December 18 with wrestling starting at 4:15.
On 12/4/18 Highland Hiker Wrestling competed admirably at Highmark Charter School. Madden B. maintained an undefeated streak winning his 4th match in a row, with Trey W. and Aaron B. joining in by winning both of their matches. Anahi F. and Karder N. fell short in well-fought matches and demonstrated the HIKER Way in every aspect of their performances. Sammy S., Korvin B., and Victor S. all did well in their first experiences on the competitive mat.

Saturday January 6, 2018 Highland Hikers Wrestling participated in the Excalibur Youth Wrestling Tournament. All of our competing wrestlers placed in the top four with Emilio Mendez taking first. Hiker wrestling will be competing again on Tuesday January 9 and Saturday January 13, with the Northern Utah State Wrestling tournament finalizing our team season on January 27. Come support our Hikers as they finish their 2017-2018 season.

Highland Hikers’ Wrestling Team had another successful meet on 12/5/17 at Highmark Charter School with wins from Hope Abel, Logan Gillespie, and Kyson Neilsen.
On November 28th Highland Jr. High Wrestling kicked of the season with individual wins by Hailey Davis (major dec. 14-2); Emilio Mendez (Fall 2:30); and Logan Gillespie (Fall 2:10). We also saw the HIKER Way exemplified in the effort and sportsmanship shown by Hope Abel, Karder Neilsen, and Kyson Neilsen.
